Lisa’s church life began at Lillington Free Church URC, then in her late teens she became a member of Long Itchington Congregational church. She was active in the Congregational Federation Youth organisation and took part in Mission & Society committee work, which played a big part in her early faith journey.
In 1996 she moved to Plymouth to work as a radio presenter, staying in the city for 20 years. Radio opened the door to voiceover work and then audio production. The flexibility of remote working later allowed her to spend several years travelling as a house and pet sitter before settling into a period of caring for her mum.
Lisa and her mum moved to Swindon in 2021 to be closer to family, and soon found a home at Emmanuel URC Haydon Wick. She became a member in 2024 and has recently been ordained and inducted as an elder.
Away from work, Lisa enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. She’s a fan of history documentaries and comedy, gives soaps and reality TV a wide berth, and is always happy to chat about Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek, with a touch of Miss Marple and Poirot on the side.
