Pastoral Team

Synod Pastoral Advisors work with the Synod Moderator and the other Pastoral Advisors to offer pastoral care and leadership in mission to local congregations and ministers with, and sometimes on behalf of, the Synod Moderator within a defined area.

They co-ordinate education and learning in the area, facilitate networks between ministers, offer support and encouragement to churches developing their mission, especially at times of transition and visit with the Synod Moderator to advise on options for leadership and the process for declaring and filling vacancies. They are also a channel of communication between the local church and the Synod.

The Synod Pastoral Advisors and Moderator together with the Synod Clerk, who acts as secretary, form the Synod Pastoral Committee which meets every 5 to 6 weeks. To get in touch with the Pastoral Advisor for your area please see contact details below:
